Silver futures hold near $69.17–$69.30, sitting just above a key technical pivot after rebounding from the lower $60s. A confirmed close above $69.58 would open the door to $70.58 and then $72.26, while a slip below the pivot points traders back toward the $67.32–$67.35 zone.
Price holds above the pivot
Silver futures trade near $69.17–$69.30, maintaining a recovery structure after rebounding from the lower $60s. The metal now sits directly around the Daily VC PMI mean at $68.94, which analysis marks as the immediate directional pivot.
Holding above that mean shifts the near-term probability toward Daily Sell 1 at $69.58. A confirmed breakout and close above that level would expose Daily Sell 2 at $70.58. That would be followed by the larger Weekly Sell 1 objective at $72.26. Corrections, by contrast, get measured first against Daily Buy 1 at $67.96 and Daily Buy 2 at $67.32. That level virtually overlaps the Weekly VC PMI at $67.35. The overlap creates a confluence zone treated as the preferred area to evaluate long-side mean-reversion setups rather than chasing price near resistance. The chart's MACD has also recovered sharply from deeply negative territory and is approaching equilibrium, supporting improving short-term momentum.
Cycle window and Square of 9 levels
The market is entering the late-August cycle window, with August 24–28 serving as a short-term decision period. The next broader timing focus then shifts toward the September 2026 window. Futures positioning, physical-market flows and seasonal forces could increase volatility during that window.
From a Square of 9 perspective, the $69–$70 region marks an important vibration zone. Confirmation above $70.58 would strengthen the geometric breakout structure and put $72.26 into focus. Failure to hold $68.94, however, raises the odds of a rotation back toward $67.96 and the $67.32–$67.35 confluence.
Fundamentals still favor the metal
Silver remains supported by the broader precious-metals environment, though volatility stays elevated. The metal gained strongly during the prior week amid weaker-dollar and fiscal/debt concerns, while recent trading has shown profit-taking near $69. The Silver Institute's 2026 outlook also highlights the tension between silver's monetary and investment role and its sensitivity to industrial demand and global growth. CME has reported exceptionally strong precious-metals participation and plans to expand its 100-ounce Silver futures contract to 24/7 trading beginning September 11, subject to regulatory review.
Discipline remains essential in a strengthening market: the preferred approach is buying corrections rather than becoming emotionally committed to short positions against the prevailing trend.
