XRP

XRP dropped 10.58% on Tuesday, its steepest one-day loss since February 5. The slide pushed its market cap down to $86.9123 billion. It comes days after separate data showed Binance liquidity for the token hitting a six-month high — a condition that can deepen a move in either direction rather than signal which way it goes.

XRP traded at $1.3216, down 10.58% on the day, according to the Investing.com Index. The token had ranged between $1.3216 and $1.4563 over the previous 24 hours.

XRP's Steepest Drop Since February

The decline pushed XRP's market cap down to $86.9123 billion, or 3.34% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, well below its peak of $210.6006 billion. Over the past seven days, XRP lost 3.81%, trading between $1.3199 and $1.4895 in that stretch.

Trading volume over 24 hours reached $5.1428 billion, or 5.71% of total crypto volume. XRP now sits 63.85% below its all-time high of $3.66, set on July 18, 2025.

Bitcoin and Ethereum Fall Alongside It

Bitcoin dropped 4.13% to $75,952 on the Investing.com Index, while Ethereum fell 5.91% to $2,387.94. Bitcoin's market cap held 58.96% of the total crypto market, with Ethereum at 11.29%.

Liquidity Had Been Building Before the Slide

Separately, Cryptonews reported that XRP's 30-day liquidity index on Binance had climbed to 0.0675, the highest reading in about six months, with 30-day turnover recovering to approximately $4.6 billion after sinking to between $2 billion and $3 billion in July and August. A rising index means faster turnover and tighter execution, but a deeper order book can support buying or selling equally well.

That data also showed more than 91 million XRP moved onto Binance on the 11th, and over 113 million XRP moved out, both six-month highs in single-day volume, while Binance's total XRP holdings rose just 0.43% over the week. Binance's seven-day change in open interest improved from -27% on August 29 to 1% by September 6, with average open interest near $476.7 million. XRP had also closed August up about 28.5%, its strongest August since 2021, while U.S. spot XRP ETF products pulled in $153.55 million of inflows that month.

Traders now face a market that can move faster in either direction, without new data pointing to which way it breaks.
