Bitcoin stalls at $83,000 after a drop to $80,400
Bitcoin has barely moved from $83,000 over the past 36 hours, though more volatility is likely later today or tomorrow morning. The source links that risk to new attacks against Saudi Arabia and a hint from President Trump that the US could join the fight.
The month began strongly. Bitcoin surged to over $87,000 on October 2, but sellers pushed it back under $84,000 the same day. A Monday breakout attempt stalled at $86,600.
The following legs down were more painful. Bitcoin fell to $82,400 on Wednesday and to a multi-week low of $80,400 on Thursday, a drop of nearly $7,000 in a few days. A Friday rebound was stopped at $83,500.
Bitcoin's market cap remains at $1.660 trillion, and its dominance over the alts stands at 59.5% on CMC.
Larger caps flat while mid caps move
Most larger-cap names showed little change. ETH is close to $2,500, and XRP has dipped below $1.40, while ZEC and HYPE are up by around 1%. BNB, SOL, TRX, DOGE, XMR, LINK and ADA are slightly in the red.
Among mid-cap altcoins, TIA rose 21% and trades close to $0.60. AERO gained 15% and is up to $1. The cumulative market cap of all crypto assets stands at $2.8 trillion on CMC.
