Strive spent about $169 million to buy 2,000 BTC between September 28 and October 2, 2026, pushing its total holdings to 29,462 BTC. The purchase came as the company leaned on preferred-stock funding that is also raising its dividend bill.
Strive bought 2,000 Bitcoin for roughly $169 million at an average price of $84,422 per coin, the Nasdaq-listed company disclosed in a Form 8-K filed October 5. The transaction raised Strive's total holdings to 29,462 BTC, marking its largest single purchase since early June.
Bitcoin Holdings Outpace Share Growth
Strive's Bitcoin stack grew 7.28% for the week ending October 2, rising from 27,462 to 29,462 BTC. Over the same stretch, total Class A and Class B shares rose only 3.37%, from 97.65 million to 100.94 million. Because the coin count outran the share count, BTC held per common share climbed about 3.79%, to 29,188 satoshis.
Strive's shares, which trade as ASST, closed around $30.26 on October 5, up 0.77%. With Bitcoin trading near $86,000 that day, the company's 29,462 BTC were worth approximately $2.53 billion.
Separately, Bitwise Asset Management says Bitcoin climbed roughly 40-43% during the third quarter, its strongest Q3 in over a decade, after starting July in a range around $58,500-$62,900.
The Stack Has More Than Doubled Since March
Strive has added 16,151 BTC in under seven months, growing holdings from 13,311 BTC on March 9 to 29,462 BTC on October 2, an increase of about 121%. The company's previous large purchase ran from May 23 to June 1, when it spent roughly $185 million on 2,500 BTC at $74,092 each.
SATA Funding Lifts Strive's Dividend Bill
CEO Matt Cole said 61.5% of the capital Strive raised in the recent round came from its SATA preferred stock, with warrant exercises adding $56.7 million. SATA carries a roughly 13% annual dividend rate, and outstanding shares rose from 12.19 million to 13.50 million over the week, adding about $130.5 million in nominal value.
If that dividend rate holds, the new SATA issuance adds nearly $17 million a year in obligations, pushing Strive's annualized dividend bill from $168.2 million toward roughly $175.5 million. Strive also authorized a $500 million SATA buyback facility, though it has not disclosed any repurchases yet.
