Strive bought 2,000 Bitcoin between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2 for about $169 million, its largest purchase in four months. The buy pushed total holdings to 29,462 BTC, even though the company's average cost per coin now sits above Monday's market price.
Strive bought 2,000 Bitcoin last week, its biggest single purchase in four months. The publicly traded company paid an average of about $84,422 per coin between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, a filing with the SEC shows, working out to roughly $169 million.
That tops Strive's previous largest buy, 2,500 Bitcoin acquired between May 23 and June, which had lifted the company's total to 19,000 coins at the time.
Holdings reach 29,462 Bitcoin
Strive's total holdings now stand at 29,462 Bitcoin as of Oct. 2, worth about $2.5 billion at a price near $86,000 per coin. The stack is up 48% in dollar terms since July 2, with last week's average purchase price running about 41% above the July figure.
Strive is a Bitcoin treasury company — it raises money from investors and parks the proceeds in Bitcoin rather than cash. Its stack grew after agreeing in September 2025 to acquire Semler Scientific, a healthcare technology firm holding roughly 5,000 Bitcoin. Shareholders approved the deal in January, creating a combined position of about 12,800 BTC. By late April the company held 14,557 Bitcoin, and by mid-August it held 20,246 BTC.
Average cost now above market price
The filing puts Strive's average cost at $90,170 per Bitcoin at the end of September, above the roughly $86,000 where Bitcoin traded Monday. On paper, the position is worth less than Strive paid for it. The filing also lists $284.7 million in cash and no debt.
Much of the funding has come from selling SATA, a preferred stock that pays holders a regular dividend ahead of ordinary shareholders. SATA supplied 70% of capital in the week ending Sept. 4. It supplied 85% in the week ending Sept. 25. Each share carries a $100 stated amount, and Strive currently pays about 13% a year on an adjustable rate, with dividends paid every business day since June 16.
Strive ranks fifth among public Bitcoin holders, behind Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet and MARA, according to Bitcoin Treasuries. Twenty One holds 43,514 Bitcoin, leaving Strive 14,052 coins short of that total.
