Stripe's Global Payouts service lets eligible U.S. businesses send stablecoins directly to recipients' external crypto wallets in more than 160 markets. The public preview excludes businesses in New York. The market figure refers to recipients' countries and regions, not to places where businesses can originate payouts.
How the wallet payouts work
Senders need a Stripe Treasury financial account, which may require activation or additional information. They can fund payouts from a dollar or USDC balance, add a recipient's wallet and pick the destination stablecoin and network. Payouts go out through the Dashboard or API.
The service supports two stablecoins, with networks varying by token. USDC runs on networks including Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, Solana and Stellar, while Open USD (OUSD) runs on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo.
Stripe says wallet payouts typically arrive within minutes, although network conditions can delay receipt. Standard pricing is 50 cents plus 0.5% of the amount per stablecoin payout. A separate platform fee of 0.05% applies to monthly payout volume above $1 million across all payout rails.
How it differs from Connect
Stripe's existing stablecoin payouts for Connect remain in private preview for U.S. platforms and marketplaces. That product starts with USDC, and payouts are limited to individuals and sole proprietors rather than companies or nonprofits. Global Payouts also supports business recipients.
The funds flow also changes compliance responsibilities. Stripe says businesses managing customer funds through Global Payouts might need a money-transmitter license, while Connect payouts are covered by Stripe's licensing.
New York businesses are not shut out entirely. Stripe is offering them a waitlist option instead.
