Strategy shareholders approved amendments that let its four preferred stocks pay daily dividends. STRC is set to switch first in November, while STRF, STRK and STRD follow in January 2027. Annual dividend rates stay the same.
Bitcoin treasury company Strategy said shareholders approved amendments allowing its four preferred stocks to pay daily dividends, with 99.3% of votes cast in favor, according to preliminary results. The company announced the result on Wednesday.
Daily payments start with STRC
The amendments cover STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD, and move payments from semi-monthly or quarterly schedules to every business day. Each dividend will accrue daily, including weekends and holidays, without changing annual rates.
Strategy expects daily payments on STRC to begin Nov. 2, with the other three following on Jan. 4, 2027. According to Cointelegraph, Strategy said the changes aim to shorten the time between earning dividends and receiving cash.
The four securities carry annual dividend rates ranging from 8% to 12%. STRC offers a variable rate currently set at 12%, and the other three pay fixed dividends.
Weekend record dates and a common-holder vote
Every calendar day gets a record date. But for shares held at DTC, weekend and holiday record dates roll back to the prior trading day, according to Bankless. In Strategy's own example, dividends for Nov. 6th-8th all count from Friday and pay out Monday, Nov. 9th.
Only Class A and B common holders voted, and Saylor alone holds 32.9% of the voting power. Holders of the four preferreds did not get a say.
Bankless also notes that STRC remains a perpetual preferred stock rather than a bank deposit, and dividends only get paid when the board declares them.
Strategy remains the largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, with 848,517 BTC, according to BitcoinTreasuries.net.
