Strategy will pay $250 a year into Trump Accounts for every eligible child under 18 of its U.S. employees, joining Coinbase, Morgan Stanley and other firms backing the initiative. The pledge comes as the Bitcoin treasury company keeps selling BTC and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor addresses discussion around related wallet transfers.

Strategy will contribute $250 each year to Trump Accounts for every eligible child under 18 of its U.S. employees, plus a one-time $1,000 payment that matches the federal government's seed contribution, the Bitcoin treasury company said.

Strategy joins a growing roster of backers

The company joins Coinbase, Circle, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and other firms that have already pledged support for the Trump Accounts initiative, which channels tax-advantaged savings for children into funds tracking U.S. equity indexes. Strategy said employer contributions will start only after the U.S. Treasury finishes its implementation process and issues final guidance on employer contribution systems. Chief Executive Officer Phong Le said the accounts can help build a stronger financial future for children and encourage saving habits from an early age.

Bitcoin sales continue alongside the pledge

Strategy kept adjusting its Bitcoin treasury even as it made the pledge. An SEC filing showed the company sold 1,638 BTC over the past week at an average price of $63,957, leaving it with 842,138 BTC bought for $63.51 billion at an average price of $75,419.

On-chain analytics platform Lookonchain also reported that a wallet linked to Strategy transferred 1,030 BTC worth more than $66 million, while Arkham data showed transfers ranging from $6 million to $21 million, following an earlier transfer of about 300 BTC the same week. Strategy has not confirmed the wallet movements represented additional sales.

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor addressed the recent discussion around the company's Bitcoin transactions, saying: "Strategy is a public company, not my wallet." He noted the company has disclosed since 2020 that it may buy or sell Bitcoin to manage capital, adding that his conviction in Bitcoin, shared with the company, has not changed.

Trump Accounts target the next generation of investors

Trump Accounts are retirement accounts created for children to encourage long-term investing. Children born between 2025 and 2028 qualify for a $1,000 contribution from the U.S. Treasury under the program. The accounts are expected to invest in mutual funds or ETFs that track the S&P 500 or another index focused mainly on U.S. equities.

Strategy has backed Trump's political initiatives before: the company donated $1 million to the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. political action committee in January 2025, while Coinbase and Circle each contributed $1 million to Trump's inaugural fund.
