Solana's daily share of global tokenized stock volume fell from 71% to 30% over a two-week stretch ending around August 27, 2026, according to Blockworks. Nothing broke on Solana itself. Instead, rival chains built a faster way to pull in speculative traders.
How meme/stock pairings rewired the market
BNB Chain and a new Robinhood-branded chain didn't just list tokenized versions of stocks the way Solana's xStocks protocol does. They created trading pairs that bundle a memecoin with a tokenized equity, and the design forces users to bridge assets onto the host chain to participate. That bridging activity inflates transaction volumes, which in turn makes the chains look more active and attracts more traders.
The pairings themselves caught on fast. On BNB Chain, a meme/stock pair called $牛来 reached a peak market cap of $77 million. On Robinhood Chain, a pair branded $AI hit $67 million at its peak.
The contrast with Solana's earlier dominance is stark. During Q2 2026, and particularly around a wave of SpaceX-related tokenized equity activity in June, Solana captured between 95% and 97% of all on-chain tokenized equity spot trading volume.
Solana's absolute numbers tell a different story
Solana has processed over $9.5 billion in cumulative tokenized stock volume since the xStocks protocol launched in July 2025. The network has 288,000 unique holders tied to that activity. It has also generated $56 million in equity-backed lending pools as of late August 2026.
