Solana hit an all-time high in blockchain activity on Aug. 4, 2026, recording 169.9 million transactions, even as its price stays 63% below its January 2025 peak. Tokenized stock trading and perpetual futures volume on the network both set records in Q2, but network fees fell 44% over the same quarter.
Solana broke its all-time record for blockchain network activity on Aug. 4, 2026, recording 169.9 million transactions, according to data from Blockworks. The network has broken that record repeatedly this year, even as its coin price fell. As of Aug. 27, Solana remains 63% below its peak price from January 2025.
Tokenized stock volume tops $5.8 billion
Tokenized stocks, blockchain tokens backed by shares of public companies, are one of the most anticipated drivers of growth on Solana. The network's decentralized exchanges reported about $5.8 billion in tokenized equity volume in the second quarter, a jump of 114% over the prior quarter and a new all-time high for the category. That volume dwarfs the same quarter a year earlier, when tokenized equity volume on Solana totaled just $1.3 million. In Q2, an estimated 95% of on-chain tokenized equity trading ran through Solana, per data from Crypto Briefing.
Perpetuals volume hits record highs
Perpetual futures contracts are the network's other major source of traffic. Solana saw $148 billion in perpetuals volume in Q2, its most ever. Its exchanges have cleared around $1.1 trillion in cumulative all-time perpetuals volume as of Aug. 25, a tally that ranks second in the crypto sector, behind only Hyperliquid.
Rising activity hasn't lifted network fees
Solana's holders are not necessarily gaining much directly from the rise in activity. Per DefiLlama, the network's fees fell 44% quarter over quarter in Q2, reaching $41 million. Only a small portion of each transaction fee is destroyed, so the higher activity doesn't meaningfully slow the coin's constant issuance of new supply.
The token's price has still reacted strongly to the recent activity highs, climbing 46% in the 30-day period ending Aug. 27.
