Solana processed a record 171.9 million non-vote transactions in a single 24-hour period on August 10. A bank has separately approved Bitwise's Solana ETF as loan collateral at up to 25% loan-to-value. The two stories reflect both surging network use and expanding institutional access to Solana.

Solana processed 171.9 million non-vote transactions in a single 24-hour period on August 10, topping its previous high of 169.9 million set just six days earlier. The network sustained roughly 1,990 transactions per second across the full day.

A billion-transaction week

In the seven days leading up to August 10, Solana recorded more than 1 billion non-vote transactions. Non-vote transactions exclude validator consensus messages, leaving only activity from swaps, NFT minting, DeFi use, and wallet transfers. The surge follows a 66% increase in the maximum compute limit per block, a change that widened how many transactions the network can process without bottlenecks.

Institutional money follows the throughput

On the same day Solana set its record, US spot Solana ETFs pulled in $8.8 million in net inflows. All of that capital went into the Bitwise BSOL fund. BSOL held 8.18 million SOL worth $622 million as of Aug. 9. The fund had 99% of its holdings staked. That produced a net 5.84% staking reward rate.

A bank now takes BSOL as loan collateral

Bitwise co-founder Hunter Horsley disclosed on Aug. 11 that a bank approved BSOL shares as collateral for loans up to 25% loan-to-value. Borrowers can receive up to $25 for every $100 in pledged shares. Horsley did not name the bank, and the disclosure omitted the interest rate, minimum loan size, and account requirements.

BSOL keeps drawing capital despite Solana's price slide

BSOL drew $267.1 million in net subscriptions during the first half of 2026. Share issuance lifted its SOL holdings from about 5.15 million tokens at the end of 2025 to roughly 8.05 million by June 30. Yet falling SOL prices cut the fund's net assets from $641.3 million to $592.3 million. Its net asset value per share dropped from $16.37 to $10.01. That was a negative 38.85% NAV return for the six months.
