Michael Saylor posted another orange-themed hint on Oct. 11, following a $28.7 million bitcoin purchase. His chart shows 848,000 BTC, and prior Sunday posts preceded confirmed buys.
Strategy Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTR) may be preparing another bitcoin purchase. On Oct. 11, Executive Chairman Michael Saylor shared a new buying hint on X, writing: "There's always room for more orange."
The chart behind the hint
The accompanying chart displays 848,000 BTC valued at $70.48 billion, with an average acquisition cost of approximately $75,441 per coin. It lists 117 purchase events, plotted against BTC's price.
However, the valuation is a market-price snapshot, so bitcoin's price moves can change it without any transaction. The coin balance matches Strategy's disclosed holdings as of Oct. 4, and a later transaction update would show whether the post points to a new purchase.
Earlier posts preceded confirmed purchases
Saylor's previous orange-themed hint appeared Oct. 4 alongside a chart showing 847,666 BTC. The following morning, Strategy reported a 334 BTC purchase that lifted its holdings to 848,000 coins.
That acquisition cost $28.7 million and occurred between Oct. 1 and Oct. 4. According to Strategy's update, $15.7 million came from MSTR stock sales, while $13 million came from its dollar cash balance.
A similar sequence unfolded in September. Saylor's Sept. 27 signal followed a 950 BTC purchase disclosed Sept. 21, and Strategy then reported acquiring another 1,665 BTC during the week ended Sept. 27.
Cash reserves cover more than bitcoin
Strategy's dollar balances also support commitments beyond buying BTC, including preferred-stock dividends and interest on outstanding debt. As of Oct. 4, the company held a $4.88 billion reserve for those payments and another $833.4 million in cash for broader corporate purposes, including BTC acquisitions and capital management.
