Robinhood Chain crossed 200 million cumulative transactions roughly one month after its July 1 launch, a pace that at times eclipsed rival Layer-2 Base. The Arbitrum-based network also pulled in about $3.6 million in fees during its first month, more than any other Ethereum Layer-2.

Robinhood Chain crossed 200 million cumulative transactions roughly one month after its July 1 mainnet launch, a pace that puts it among the fastest-growing rollups ever deployed. The Arbitrum-based network also became the top revenue-producing Layer-2 network in the Ethereum ecosystem, generating roughly $3.6 million in fees over the same stretch.

Daily volume outpaces Base at its peak

The chain hit 38.7 million transactions in its first 10 days alone, before daily counts settled into a steadier range. Since then, daily transaction counts have peaked between 10 million and 13.3 million, volumes that at times eclipsed Coinbase's Base network.

Robinhood Chain runs on Arbitrum's infrastructure, uses ETH as its gas token, and processes blocks in roughly 0.1 seconds — finality fast enough to support tokenized US stock trading without lag. Total value locked has climbed to between $300 million and $800 million since launch, alongside record stablecoin supply that typically signals real usage rather than speculative inflows.

Fees top the Ethereum Layer-2 leaderboard

Robinhood Chain's July fees accounted for about 38% of the estimated $6.3 million collected across major L2 networks, and some estimates suggest its share may have been as high as 56% depending on which networks are counted. Under the Arbitrum Expansion Program, Robinhood returns 10% of its net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem, split 8% to ARB token holders and 2% to ecosystem developers, keeping the remaining 90% itself. Ethereum's mainnet, meanwhile, received only a few thousand dollars in fee transfers from the new L2 in its early days — a gap that has raised fresh questions about how L2 growth translates into base-layer revenue.

A brokerage's distribution edge

Robinhood already serves users in over 120 countries through its traditional platform, and integrations with Uniswap for market-making, Chainlink for oracle data, and Alchemy for developer tooling have pulled DeFi infrastructure into the chain's orbit. The absence of a native token is deliberate: by using ETH for gas rather than launching a governance token, Robinhood sidesteps regulatory exposure and keeps its growth metrics from being inflated by token-farming incentives. That brokerage also has faced regulatory scrutiny before, restricting trading on certain stocks during the 2021 GameStop saga, a history that leaves the concentration risk of one brokerage controlling a dominant tokenized-stock gateway a relevant consideration for users.
