Ripple and SettleMint announced a partnership on Sept. 1 that links Ripple Custody with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, giving regulated institutions one system for custody, issuance and servicing of tokenized assets. The companies said the offering has started in Asia Pacific, with no named customers, blockchains or launch dates disclosed yet.

Ripple and SettleMint announced a strategic partnership on Sept. 1 that combines institutional digital asset custody with tools for issuing and managing tokenized assets. The companies said the initial offering would target regulated financial institutions in Asia Pacific, integrating Ripple Custody with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, known as DALP.

Ripple Custody pairs with SettleMint's lifecycle platform

The integration gives banks, financial market operators and other regulated institutions one foundation for custody, issuance, compliance, settlement and post-issuance servicing. Ripple and SettleMint said they had begun offering the combination in Asia, though they did not identify participating institutions.

Ripple Custody provides infrastructure for holding and transferring cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets, with configurable access controls, policy enforcement and approval workflows built for institutional environments. Ripple describes it as self-custody technology that institutions install within their own infrastructure, keeping control of private keys rather than outsourcing it to Ripple. The platform supports hardware security modules and multi-party computation for key management, and Ripple lists FIPS 140-2 Level 4, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications among its security credentials.

SettleMint's DALP handles tokenization design, issuance and management while applying compliance, permissioning and governance rules through an asset's lifecycle. The announcement did not disclose which blockchain networks the joint service will support, and it did not state that institutions must use the XRP Ledger, XRP or Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin — the partnership therefore does not establish direct demand for XRP.

Deal builds on a string of custody additions

The SettleMint agreement follows several additions to Ripple Custody. Ripple acquired wallet and custody company Palisade in November 2025, then added partnerships with Securosys and Figment in February, bringing cloud-based hardware security module support and institutional staking. A Chainalysis integration added transaction monitoring and compliance tools.

Ripple has also begun testing its custody infrastructure with financial institutions in Asia. Kyobo Life began testing tokenized Korean government bond settlement using Ripple Custody, though that project remains a pilot with no disclosed transaction volume or commercial launch date.

Asia Pacific becomes the first deployment market

Ripple and SettleMint said the combined offering had started in Asia and could expand to other regions as institutional demand develops, without giving a country-by-country schedule. Singapore has already supported institutional experiments in tokenized funds and stablecoin settlement — DBS paired a tokenized money market fund with RLUSD through an arrangement involving Franklin Templeton and Ripple.

The companies cited a Boston Consulting Group forecast estimating that tokenized real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035 under its progressive scenario, equal to roughly 16% of global investable assets. BCG estimated publicly visible tokenized real-world assets were worth approximately $30 billion when it produced the report. No customer names, contract values or production dates for the Ripple-SettleMint deal have been announced.
