The price hikes take effect on systems shipped early next year, including those carrying the flagship Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell chips. The size of each increase depends on Nvidia's chip generation and the memory configuration involved, the report added.
Memory costs are the driver
Soaring memory chip costs sit behind the increases, according to Bloomberg. Nvidia had already notified its add-in board partners in May and July of price increases on GPU kits, according to Crypto Briefing. Server chips such as the H200 and B200 saw increases of up to 15% in early 2026, while consumer cards rose 5-10% at the wholesale level.
Crypto Briefing also reported that GDDR7 memory modules have tripled in cost compared with prior generations. That cost pressure has shown up at retail too: Crypto Briefing said median prices for RTX 50-series cards climbed as much as 39% between June and August. The RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell reached $16,000, up from an initial pre-order price of $7,600.
What it means for AI builders
Higher hardware costs stand to flow downstream to cloud providers and AI-as-a-service companies, according to Crypto Briefing, which cited analysts predicting continued enterprise cost pressures of 15-20% driven by memory costs alone. Training runs and inference could get more expensive as a result.
