Nasdaq-100 futures are pulling back after a strong multi-session advance, with the broader uptrend still intact. The key test now sits around 31,480-31,500, a support level that will decide whether buyers stay in control.

Nasdaq-100 futures (NQ) have lost short-term momentum, producing lower highs and lower closes after a strong run higher. The broader bullish structure, however, has not broken down, and the market's next move depends on how price behaves around a narrow support band.

NQ sellers have not yet taken control

The contract sold sharply toward the 31,500 area before recovering strongly earlier in the session, a failed bearish attempt that limits how much credit sellers can claim so far. Still, the latest decline has persisted longer than earlier dips. Even so, the broader support structure around 31,480-31,455 has not yet been decisively broken.

That leaves NQ in a developing short-term bearish rotation inside a still-bullish broader trend. The most useful question now is whether the index can stabilize in the 31,500-31,480 decision zone, rather than whether it briefly touches it.

What would strengthen each case

The bearish case gets stronger if NQ breaks below 31,478-31,495, a recovery attempt fails to reclaim that zone, and price then loses 31,440-31,458. That sequence would shift focus toward 31,393-31,428 and potentially 31,337-31,371 if selling continues.

On the other side, the bullish picture improves with a recovery above roughly 31,545-31,550, and strengthens further on a reclaim of 31,563-31,595. A sustained move through 31,597-31,616 would put the recent highs back in play.

Treasury yields remain a factor for tech-heavy futures

Interest rates matter for a technology-heavy index because higher bond yields can weigh on how investors value long-duration growth companies. A recent US Treasury auction sold $58 billion of three-year notes at a high yield of 4.932%, though the source notes a single auction does not explain this pullback on its own. Traders watching NQ should still track whether yields reinforce or work against the technical picture.

The current decline remains small next to the advance that preceded it, which argues against calling a major top. But the recent sequence is no longer one of uncontested buyer control, and the support test should offer more information than guessing at the next large move.
