Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she reached agreements with US President Donald Trump during a call this week, as Washington works toward a bilateral trade deal with Mexico. Sheinbaum did not disclose what the agreements cover.
Sheinbaum said on Friday that she spoke with Trump on Wednesday and that the two reached some agreements. She described the call in positive terms but gave no further detail at her daily press conference.
Washington, meanwhile, is speeding up efforts to reach a bilateral trade deal with Mexico before the US midterm elections in October. Sheinbaum said progress is being made toward a potential agreement between Mexico and the United States.
The exchange between the two leaders was first reported by Politico before Sheinbaum confirmed it herself.
