Janus Henderson and Centrifuge launched JQQQ, which the companies describe as the first blockchain-native, issuer-sponsored fund tracking the Nasdaq-100 Index. The fund runs exclusively on Stellar and extends Janus Henderson's onchain platform beyond $1 billion in institutional strategies.
Janus Henderson and Centrifuge launched JQQQ on Tuesday, a fund that tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index directly on public blockchain infrastructure. The companies describe it as the first blockchain-native, issuer-sponsored fund tracking that index.
A press release shared with Bitcoin.com News says the fund will debut exclusively on Stellar. Janus Henderson oversees approximately half a trillion dollars in assets, and the initiative pushes its tokenized investment business into one of the most recognizable equity indexes.
A $1 billion onchain platform adds equities
Janus Henderson manages JQQQ, and Centrifuge's tokenization infrastructure powers it. The fund seeks to replicate the Nasdaq-100 Index under license from Nasdaq.
Unlike products that create blockchain representations of existing securities, JQQQ is designed for native onchain issuance and operation. That design could potentially let its shares function within programmable portfolios, lending arrangements, and collateralized financial applications.
Nick Cherney, Janus Henderson's head of innovation, said the launch expands an onchain platform that now includes more than $1 billion in institutional strategies across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit, and public equities.
Stellar hosts the fund at launch
Centrifuge supplies the underlying infrastructure, while Stellar serves as the exclusive launch network. The companies said Stellar's real-world asset market exceeded $4 billion in 2026.
The arrangement offers decentralized finance a licensed institutional investment strategy rather than a digital copy of traditional securities. However, the fund's practical utility will depend on regulatory policy and permissions, platform integrations, and investor eligibility.
