Gemini enabled XRP deposits and withdrawals over the XRP Ledger for its Singapore customers on Aug. 25, adding direct blockchain transfers to the trading and custody access it already offered there. The move extends a string of XRP-related product launches the exchange has rolled out through 2026, from derivatives cross-collateral to a rewards credit card.

Gemini enabled XRP deposits and withdrawals through the XRP Ledger for customers in Singapore on Aug. 25. Eligible users can now transfer XRP between Gemini accounts and external XRPL addresses, instead of relying only on transactions within the exchange.

According to crypto.news, Gemini co-founder and CEO Tyler Winklevoss announced the rollout on X: "Big news for the Ripple Army in Asia."

Gemini adds native XRP transfers in Singapore

The new functionality lets users deposit XRP from self-custody wallets or other supported platforms, and withdraw tokens from Gemini directly to compatible addresses on the XRP Ledger. Gemini did not announce new XRP trading pairs, fee changes or minimum transfer amounts alongside the rollout.

Customers should still verify the destination network, address and any required destination tag before sending funds, since transferring XRP over an unsupported network could result in lost funds. Gemini's Singapore customers can already fund accounts in Singapore dollars and access more than 70 cryptocurrencies; the new withdrawals make XRP transferable outside Gemini's custody infrastructure.

Singapore anchors Gemini's international strategy

Gemini Digital Payments Singapore holds in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore for a Major Payment Institution license, granted in October 2024. In-principle approval is not the same as a final license, and the company has not announced a decision date.

The exchange consolidated its international operations around the U.S. and Singapore earlier in 2026, exiting the United Kingdom, European Union and Australia as part of a restructuring that included cutting as many as 200 positions globally. That makes the Singapore XRP expansion more relevant than a routine network addition, since it strengthens one of only two markets Gemini kept.

Gemini keeps stacking XRP products

Gemini added XRP to its derivatives cross-collateral pool in July, alongside Bitcoin, Ether, Tether and Gemini Dollar, letting eligible derivatives customers use the token toward margin requirements. Gemini and Ripple also launched an XRP edition of the Gemini Credit Card, which offers up to 4% back in XRP on qualifying fuel, EV charging and rideshare purchases.

The exchange said users who earned XRP rewards between October 2021 and July 2024, and held them through July 2025, saw a 453% increase in their rewards' value — a calculation that applies only to that historical group. Gemini also enabled RLUSD deposits and withdrawals over XRPL in December 2025; RLUSD is Ripple's dollar-backed stablecoin.

XRP trades higher as ETF inflows continue

XRP was trading at $1.52, up more than 2% over 24 hours, according to CoinGape. Spot XRP ETFs pulled in $13.82 million of inflows on Monday, CoinGape reported. No distinct XRP price movement could be reliably attributed to the announcement, according to crypto.news.
