U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs pulled in $433.03 million on Friday, led by Fidelity's FBTC, as bitcoin's price moved back above $80,000. The rally has since carried bitcoin toward chart resistance near $82,178, where indicators are flashing overbought.

Bitcoin ETFs drew $433.03 million in net inflows on Friday, Sept. 18. Fidelity's FBTC alone accounted for $310.72 million. The buying coincided with bitcoin's price moving back above $80,000 following a turbulent week.

Fidelity and Blackrock Drive the Rally

Blackrock's IBIT added another $108.44 million, while Bitwise's BITB attracted $9.69 million. VanEck's HODL and Ark & 21Shares' ARKB brought in $2.29 million and $1.88 million, respectively. As a result, daily trading value jumped to $4.67 billion, and net assets climbed by more than $7 billion to $102.53 billion.

Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas noted that IBIT ranked fifth among all ETFs by trading volume during Friday's session, ahead of gold ETF GLD in ninth place.

Other Crypto Funds Join In, XRP Lags

Ether ETFs also joined the rally with $143.80 million in net inflows, led by Blackrock's ETHA. Solana ETFs attracted $47.62 million, all of it into Bitwise's BSOL. However, XRP ETFs were the only category to finish in the red, posting a net outflow of just $43,700.

Bitcoin Tests Resistance Near $82,178

According to Investing.com, bitcoin's price climbed to $81,431, up nearly 4.4% above its 20-period average, with the RSI at 74.22 and MFI at a reading of 100 — both overbought signals. Price is now pressing directly into resistance at $82,178, a level Investing.com frames as a nearly completed double top. A rejection there could complete the pattern, which has historically led to 5-10% corrections if bears gain momentum.

A failed breakout above $82,200 would invalidate the bear view, while a drop below $78,900 would confirm rejection, according to Investing.com.
