Stanley Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office trimmed its Sandisk stake in the second quarter and added to Taiwan Semiconductor, Alphabet and Amazon, a new 13-F filing shows. The moves increase Duquesne's exposure to companies benefiting from AI infrastructure spending, from chipmaking to cloud computing.

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office sold part of its Sandisk stake in the second quarter and used the proceeds to build up positions in Taiwan Semiconductor, Alphabet and Amazon. Funds managing more than $100 million in assets must disclose their holdings through a 13-F filing within 45 days of a quarter's end, which is how the public learned of the trades.

Sandisk trim follows a strong run

Sandisk shares had rallied through the first half of the year before Duquesne trimmed its position. The fund's other three moves outweighed the size of the Sandisk reduction, putting the spotlight on where Druckenmiller redirected the capital.

TSMC stake grows by 19%

Taiwan Semiconductor is the world's largest logic chip producer by a wide margin. Duquesne increased its Taiwan Semiconductor stake by 19% in the second quarter, making the chipmaker its second-largest holding.

Amazon and Alphabet lean on cloud demand

Amazon and Alphabet are both capturing AI-driven demand through their cloud computing divisions, which supply the processing power that AI workloads require. Both companies plan to spend at least $200 billion on capital expenditures this year, mostly to build and equip new data centers.

Druckenmiller raised Amazon to nearly 3% of Duquesne's portfolio. Alphabet became a new addition to the portfolio, making up about 2.75% of the fund. The bulk of the returns from this year's AI build-out has not yet shown up in either company's financial results.
