Dogecoin rebounded toward $0.085 on October 13, but falling futures exposure and lower price highs point to cautious traders. DOGE remains below several major moving averages, and $0.087 is the next test for buyers.

Dogecoin recovered toward $0.085 on October 13, but a decline in futures exposure and a series of lower price highs suggest traders remain cautious after the latest crypto selloff. DOGE traded near $0.08496, with a market capitalization of $14.61 billion and approximately $2 billion in daily trading volume.

Rebound leaves DOGE below key moving averages

The token bounced from an intraday low of $0.07992, yet it stayed inside a descending price channel formed after its late-September advance toward $0.10. The rebound occurred near the channel's lower boundary, which makes it technically significant but not yet evidence of a breakout.

Dogecoin also traded below its 20-day simple moving average near $0.09166, its 50-day average around $0.08860 and its 200-day average near $0.08753. The 100-day average, around $0.08090, sat below the market price and offered a nearby reference for potential support.

Immediate support sits near $0.08246, and a sustained move below it and the $0.08090 moving-average region would expose the lower support area around $0.07605. On the upside, $0.08696 is the first important recovery level.

Open interest drops to $614.9 million

Derivatives data points the same way. Coinalyze showed open interest at $614.9 million, a 5.51% daily decline, all attributed to perpetual contracts in the dataset. Lower open interest is consistent with deleveraging, but it does not show how much of the drop came from forced liquidations.

Binance accounted for approximately $263.3 million, nearly 43% of the reported total. Bybit followed with $120.2 million, while OKX and Hyperliquid held $111.5 million and $105.5 million, respectively.

Broader selloff adds pressure

The decline comes amid weakness across crypto. On October 12, Bitcoin briefly fell below $82,000, while Solana, XRP and other altcoins suffered sharper losses. According to Coinglass data, the selloff triggered approximately $812 million in leveraged liquidations over 24 hours, with long positions accounting for roughly 84.3% of the total.

The source identifies no Dogecoin-specific network disruption or major protocol announcement behind the move, so broader market deleveraging appears to be the principal source of pressure. A failure to hold the $0.082 support area could add renewed pressure, particularly if another round of leveraged selling hits the market.
