DeFi Development Corp has grown its Solana treasury to about 2.39 million SOL and set up a $300 million offering to buy more, while Solana's tokenized-equity trading volume topped a combined $200 million in a single day, beating the Nasdaq and NYSE. Together, the two moves point to Solana drawing sustained demand from a public company and from equity traders.
Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp added 55,491 SOL to its balance sheet, lifting its holdings to about 2.39 million SOL and SOL equivalents, a gain of roughly 2% since Aug. 27. At the same time, Solana's ecosystem posted its own milestone: tokenized-equity trading on the network hit $200 million in a single day, topping the combined volume of the Nasdaq and NYSE by more than $100 million.
DFDV widens its SOL treasury
DeFi Development Corp keeps accumulating SOL and generating organic yield from its holdings. The company holds the second-largest Solana treasury after Forward Industries. It recently resumed making regular SOL purchases. It also runs a public platform tracking Solana's market, staking, validator, and ecosystem data.
A $300 million ATM to fund more buying
To keep buying, DFDV set up a $300 million at-the-market offering for its CHAD perpetual preferred stock, a Variable Rate Series C issue carrying an initial 13% annual dividend. Shares will be issued at or above their $10 par value, with proceeds used mainly to buy more SOL. The company frames the offering as extending a flywheel of raising capital, buying SOL, generating yield, and increasing SOL per share.
CEO Joseph Onorati said: "The flywheel is spinning, and we now have more capacity to put it to work."
Tokenized equities on Solana outpace Wall Street
Meanwhile, Solana's tokenized-equity market kept setting records. On September 12, the network processed the $200 million in trades, with Raydium handling roughly 70% of that volume. The next day, the total supply of tokenized equities on Solana reached an all-time high of $684 million across 727,000 holders, a 47% jump in three weeks.
Solana has also captured between 85% and 95% of global on-chain tokenized-equity activity throughout 2026. Nearly two-thirds of that activity happens outside standard trading hours: 63% of tokenized-equity volume traded on Solana through August occurred after the US market closed.
Solana first crossed the $100 million daily tokenized-equity threshold in mid-June, and its equity trading now outruns two of Wall Street's biggest exchanges combined.
