Canary Capital's Canary Staked TRX ETF began trading on the Cboe BZX Exchange on September 9, 2026, giving US brokerage accounts direct exposure to TRON's native token plus staking rewards. TRON DAO founder Justin Sun rang Cboe's closing bell on September 29, 2026 to mark the listing, which follows TRX's June 2026 debut on the CFTC-regulated Bitnomial exchange.
TRX now trades under a ticker brokerage apps recognize. Canary Capital's fund, trading as TRXS, holds TRON's native token directly rather than tracking it through derivatives, then stakes nearly all of its eligible holdings. It is described as the first US-listed exchange-traded product to offer direct TRX exposure while also collecting staking rewards from the TRON network.
How TRXS stakes TRX
Under normal conditions, TRXS targets staking approximately 90% of its eligible TRX, leaving the rest presumably unstaked for day-to-day operations. The rewards do not arrive as a separate payout. Instead, they accrue to the fund's net asset value, so each share's value grows as staking income accumulates.
Fees take a cut
TRXS charges an annual sponsor fee of 1.10%, the cost of outsourcing custody, staking, and paperwork. Fees on staking rewards are capped at 20%, meaning the fund keeps 80% of what it earns from staking.
A bell in Chicago
TRON DAO and founder Justin Sun marked the listing by ringing Cboe's closing bell in Chicago on September 29, 2026. The event emphasized the ETF's role in giving institutional investors access to TRX through conventional brokerage accounts.
The timing reflects what TRON has become. The network supports over $94 billion in circulating USDT and has processed trillions in transfer volume. At the time of TRXS's debut, TRX carried a market capitalization of around $32.1 billion.
Building on an earlier listing
TRXS is not TRX's first step into regulated markets. In June 2026, TRX was listed on Bitnomial, an exchange regulated by the CFTC. The ETF goes further, packaging TRX into a product that sits alongside stocks and bonds in a standard brokerage account.
Investors weighing TRXS should keep the costs in view. The 1.10% sponsor fee and the 20% staking cut both eat into returns, and the underlying asset remains a volatile crypto token regardless of the regulated wrapper.
