BNB Chain has overtaken Tron as the largest blockchain by stablecoin holders, reaching about 79.3 million addresses against Tron's 76.1 million. The milestone has not lifted BNB's price, which still trades near $586 as it tests a key technical barrier.

BNB Chain has overtaken Tron to become the largest blockchain by stablecoin holders, with about 79.3 million stablecoin-holding addresses against Tron's 76.1 million, according to the most recent data from Token Terminal. The network's stablecoin holder count has climbed from about 42 million addresses to almost 80 million since late 2024, a roughly 54.5% increase, while Tron's user base grew more slowly over the same stretch, letting BNB Chain close the gap and take the lead.

Holder growth as a utility signal

Stablecoin holder growth reflects actual wallet adoption rather than just speculative trading volume, so it stands as one of the best measures of blockchain activity. Stablecoins are the main settlement asset in centralized exchanges, decentralized finance, and payments, making their distribution a crucial indicator of network utility.

Ethereum ranks next with about 26 million stablecoin holders, Celo follows with 24.5 million, and Polygon holds 21.7 million, while Base, Solana, and Arbitrum remain far behind despite consistent growth throughout 2026. The wider BNB Chain ecosystem, particularly decentralized apps and on-chain liquidity, may eventually benefit from the larger stablecoin user base, as a bigger pool of holders typically generates more opportunities for the surrounding infrastructure.

BNB price lags the milestone

BNB's price has not mirrored the network milestone. After recovering from its June correction over the following few months, the token still trades at about $586, having regained both its 20-day and 50-day moving averages, which has improved the chart technically compared with earlier in the summer.

The asset is now testing the 100-day moving average near $602, the first significant barrier to a wider recovery, and momentum has ticked up slightly. The RSI has risen above 53, suggesting buyers have regained some control without pushing the market into overbought territory.

Comparatively low trading volume suggests investors are holding off on larger positions until they get confirmation. If BNB breaks above the 100-day moving average, the next technical goal would probably be the 200-day moving average near $647.
