BitMine adds 7,391 ETH to its balance sheet
BitMine Immersion Technologies has bought another 7,391 ETH, lifting its total holdings to about 5.81 million ETH. That position now represents roughly 4.8% of circulating ETH supply, making BitMine one of the most aggressive public-company examples of an Ethereum treasury strategy.
The purchase is a company-specific move, and it should not be treated as proof that institutions broadly are buying ETH at scale. Still, the scale of BitMine's position keeps drawing attention to how far corporate crypto treasuries can extend beyond Bitcoin.
Staking turns the holding into infrastructure
More than 5 million ETH is staked through BitMine's validator platform, so the company is exposed to more than just ETH price. It is also tied to Ethereum's consensus infrastructure and staking economics.
That setup can create recurring yield, but it also links BitMine's results to validator performance, staking participation, and reward rates. Unlike a simple token holding, the position carries operational complexity, slashing risk, liquidity planning, and custody considerations.
Corporate ETH demand still needs careful framing
Ethereum treasury companies have a different pitch than Bitcoin treasury companies, which typically center on scarcity and fixed supply. ETH can be held as a reserve asset, but it can also be staked, so a large share of BitMine's holdings works actively through validator infrastructure rather than sitting idle.
BitMine's move does not prove every public company is about to follow the same path. Ethereum treasury adoption remains narrower than Bitcoin treasury adoption, and large ETH positions carry risks that many boards may not want to take on. The company has not reached a full 5% supply target, but the latest purchase pushes it closer.
