US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew about $6.34 billion in net inflows in the third quarter, their strongest showing of 2026, as Bitcoin rebounded from a weak first half of the year. The quarter reversed roughly $5 billion in net outflows the funds had recorded in Q2.
Bitcoin Posts Its Best Q3 Since 2017
Bitcoin gained 42.71% in the third quarter, according to CoinGlass — its strongest quarterly gain since Q4 2024 and its best third-quarter performance since 2017.
September Ends the Quarter on a Weaker Note
September itself closed with $2.65 billion in net inflows, down about 25% from August's $3.52 billion, which had followed $172 million in July, according to SoSoValue data. However, the month's inflows ended on a weaker note: Bitcoin ETFs recorded roughly $149 million in net outflows on Wednesday, snapping a nine-day inflow streak that had attracted about $3.1 billion.
Ether and Altcoin Funds Also Draw Fresh Money
US spot Ether ETFs attracted about $3.05 billion in Q3 after roughly $714 million in net outflows in Q2, while Ether itself gained about 71% during the quarter.
XRP ETFs drew $308 million in Q3, lifting their cumulative net inflows to $1.79 billion. Solana and Zcash ETFs also recorded net inflows in September, pulling in $272 million and $246 million respectively.
